Hurricane Gustav

Title:
Hurricane Gustav

Lenght fo Listening:
2 Hours

Summary:
I've been watching this news about Hurricane Gustav for a couple of days already. Hurricane Gustav was forecast to increase its strength from category 3 to 4. As of Sunday it has a
sustained wind of 115 mph. When it make a land fall will increase to 150 mph. The mayor of
New Orleans issued a stern warning that for those who refused to leave will not be rescued
and looters who will be caught will go directly to jail. No excuse this time. This time most
people of New Orleans did not take their chances of staying and ride the storm. Almost two
million people already leave the city. Authorities forecast flooding could be worst than
katrina. They were not sure whether the leeves could hold. There is a possibility of tornado
when gustav make a landfall and that's pretty dangerous for those people who opted to
stay. Republican national convention make changes on their schedule given the necessity
of the forthcoming landfall of Hurricane gustav which requires attention and immediate
response for whatever help they can offer.

Luckily, on Monday Gustav reduce its strength to category 2. New Orleans was spared largely
by Gustav. The city's improved levee system helped avert the flooding. Eight death were
accounted as of this writing. City resident is anxious to come back after learning no much
damage were inflicted. But Mayor Ray Nagin warned and adviced them to stay put in their
place of shelter maybe in a couple of days. Right now, the city remains without power.
Expected early returns of the residents is wednesday. There are some parts of the city which
was damaged but not that much as katrina did. As a whole, the early warning and well
prepared government authorities help avert disaster.

Reaction:
Preparedness has its own fruition.

New Words:
Fruition -the state of bearing fruits
Stern -having a definite hardness or severity of nature
